Motions to the AGM
Motion 1 Removal or replacement of the following current branch motion (byelaw):
"Festivals organised by the Branch will promote and stock beer meeting CAMRA’s definition of real ale. At least 98% of the total number of draught beers ordered shall be British cask ale meeting CAMRA’s definition, excluding bright beer which shall only be ordered in the case of a festival running out of beer."
With either motion (1a) or (1b) or removal of the existing byelaw (as 1a it possibly unnecessary as we follow national policy).
1a) Festivals organised by the Branch will promote and stock beer meeting CAMRA’s definition of cask-conditioned beer, in accordance with CAMRA's events policy document."
Excerpt from CAMRA's Internal Events policy document (latest version, adopted April 2025)
The primary campaigning focus of CAMRA events should be on British live cask beer and real cider and perry. Event organisers who wish to sell other products should limit their quantity appropriately to maintain this focus.
Events that choose to sell other types of beer in addition to live beer should provide educational material giving information about the different types of beer on sale. The control of all beers, ciders and perries sold should be in the hands of the event organisers, to ensure maximum quality and choice.
1b) Festivals organised by the Branch will promote and stock beer meeting CAMRA’s definition of cask-conditioned beer. At least 92% of the total number of draught beers ordered shall be British cask-conditioned beer meeting CAMRA’s definition, excluding bright beer which shall only be ordered in the case of a festival running low on beer.
Motion 2 - Pub/club of the year Removal of the byelaw limiting a pub or club winning the pub/club of the year award in consecutive years
